TheAzienda Agricola Le Morette – Valerio Zenato is today one of the most dynamic realities of the Lugana DOC production area. The winery is located in San Benedetto di Lugana, between the southern shore of Lake Garda and the small Frassino Lake, important naturalist site andUNESCO World Heritage natural reserve..

50 HECTARS OF VINEYARDS

The farm develops on 50 hectares of vineyards divided in three estates, two in San Benedetto di Lugana and one in the municipality of Desenzano del Garda, which is the closest to Lake Garda. These territories lay on very stiff soils that sometimes push the vines to their limits, especially their water reserves.
This is the area of the “territorial first cru”, where white wines of greater structure and pronounced minerality are produced. In 2008, 5 hectares of vineyards were added in the municipality of Lazise, within the Bardolino Classico production area.

The winery’s philosophy is based on the one fundamental notion of viticulture: a constant attention and care in the cultivation of the vine throughout the year, in order to achieve the highest integrity and quality of the grapes. This leads to the undeniable principle that “the quality of wine is made in the vineyard”. The family carefully oversees every stage of the process, from the vineyards, to harvest and vinification. Nature always comes first in order to ensure the longevity of this land and its resources.

However, the work of the winemaker is decisive in capturing and enhancing the potential of even the best of grapes. He is responsible for:

  • the lowest possible environmental impact at every stage of the production;
  • the maintenance of old vineyards to a productive stage, even if they yield less
  • the greatest possible use of natural resources in the vineyard and in the winery

We are constantly pursuing the balance between the land and the environment to foster and preserve the natural cycles of the vineyard’s ecosystem, which are essential to obtaining authentic products that are a true reflection of the local territory.

A deep knowledge of this habitat is the starting point of the company’s philosophy and it makes us even more aware of the importance of this area – making us work to preserve it, also through its proper maintenance and re-development . As a result, our production concept is firmly rooted in the wisdom that comes from the past, made of skills and expertise but also from a foresight that our founder was able to pass on to the current generations in a production path that is also a path of life.
