Lugana Doc Riserva - Le Morette

Lugana DOC Riserva

For over three generations, we have studied and selected the local Turbiana variety, breeding and grafting it from mother vines for over 100 years. The Lugana Doc Riserva, in limited edition, with numbered bottles, confirms the character of these grapes which have been cultivated in our area for centuries. One can now appreciate its innate mineral quality and complexity, confirming the importance of the clays that are typical of the Lugana territory. It is an authentic, harmonious wine of great longevity. True expression of the combination between vine variety and terroir, it was born in the historical family vineyards with the highest clay concentration. The accurate wine making process is followed by a slow fermentation at controlled temperature and by a long ageing period on yeasts, which give this wine personality and elegance. In stainless steel containers, under temperature control, 18°C, after brief maceration. Fermentation is carried out by natural yeasts, long “sur lie” phase of at least 12 months. A small portion of wine ages for a brief period of time in new oak barrels. It is an authentic, harmonious wine of great longevity. a harmony of balsamic notes and candied cedar.

Pairings

Perfect companion for rich and complex shellfish dishes, tasty white meats, succulent oysters

Local pairings

With their intense aroma, they have become the symbol of Sunday family lunches. Tortelli di zucca are a recipe originally from Mantua, but can be found in the best restaurants throughout northern Italy. Aromatic and mouth-watering, filled with sweet pumpkin, amaretti biscuits, apple or pear mostarda, nutmeg and lots and lots of aged Parmesan cheese. The typical seasoning? Melted butter and sage! They are also perfect with tomato sauce and white meat ragout. A rich, complex first course with a fragrant filling, sweet and spicy in flavour. A set of flavours on the palate that call for a structured white wine with an intense minerality that only the clays of our territory and a long ageing in the bottle can guarantee.

International pairings

A typical dish of Nikkei cuisine, the result of the contamination of Peruvian cuisine, typically spicy and strong flavoured, with the more delicate and simple Asian cuisine. This dish is a combo of sea bream, a fish with delicate, soft flesh, and rice flavoured with yuzu, a sophisticated and strong-flavoured Japanese citrus fruit. Jalapeno pepper adds complexity to the dish, in harmony with a structured white wine, with a candied citrus aftertaste of Lugana Riserva.
