Lugana DOC Mandolara Le Morette is dressing up for the occasion with a special label devoted to Dante Alighieri’s Purgatory. The limited-edition label was created specifically for the exhibition “Il mio Purgatorio. Dante profeta di speranza”, organized by the Rivela Association. The exhibition is sponsored by different entities: Veneto Region, Municipality of Verona, Dante Alighieri Society of Verona, Ministry of Education – Territorial School Office of Verona, Agec, Confcommercio, Confindustria Verona, Cdo Veneto and Iusve.

Gabriele Dell’Otto, the cartoonist who boasts international collaborations such as Marvel, signs this limited-edition label which depicts Matelda, the mysterious and lovely-smile woman that Dante meets, before Beatrice, in the Earthly Paradise. Matelda immerses Dante in the waters of the Lethe and Eunoè rivers, an indispensable rite of passage to the Celestial Paradise. Matelda, therefore, is the symbol of the condition of man before original sin, the lost Eden and the human nostalgia for a wonderful and irrecoverable golden age.

Fabio Zenato, co-owner together with his brother Paolo of Le Morette, explains the birth of this label Lugana DOC Mandolara, entirely dedicated to Dante Alighieri’s Purgatory: “For this project we chose Lugana Doc Mandolarato be dressed, because, as we did last Christmas, we want to feature our flagship wine as main character of an exclusive series of labels in the name of art. This is definitely important also considering that, behind these projects, there is always a charity program or a goal of promoting an supporting and the territory”

The limited edition of Lugana Mandolara Le Morette which dresses Dante’s Purgatory will be available in numbered bottles upon reservation exclusively in the cellar.
